Friends in poetic shelter,
I’m charmed to share with you that I recently I was interviewed for a video podcast by Nathan Hassall of the worthy online poetry space The Poetry Vessel.
In the episode (just north of an hour) he and I talk poetry (obviously), but also etymology and some ways to think about etymology. We also talked about the poetic tradition and how it is bound up with culture making and maintenance. We circled around poetic response, crafting poetry, meaning seeking, the usability of poetry and some of my own personal history with poetry and how I came to teach the course and develop the methods I employ and have employed!
If you’ve taken courses with me I think you’ll enjoy the dialectic and if you haven’t yet the conversation might give you a sense of some of the ground I’m interested in walking.
More dates of the introductory courses are coming very soon (as in starting the first week of March!) so keep an eye out for those too.
